  2. Click + on the Activity Flex Query panel and name the query.
  3. In Trades, tick Executions and these fields: Symbol, Trade Date, Trade Time, Quantity, Trade Price, IB Commission, Buy/Sell and IB Execution ID.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Choose CSV as the format, then click Continue and Create.
  6. Click the blue Run arrow, choose your dates and CSV, then click Run.

Step 2

Import the file into your journal.

Check how each column was read before you import.

  1. Open the journal and choose Import trades.
  2. Pick the CSV file and TraderPier matches its columns for you.
  3. Click Preview with this mapping, then import.
  4. Tick Save this format for next time so you can skip matching on your next file.

What imports

Each fill is imported with its commission.

Imported

  • Every fill is imported with its date, time, symbol, side, quantity and price.
  • Each fill's commission is taken off your P&L.
  • Buys and sells are joined into whole trades, even when you scale out.

Not imported

  • Stops and targets aren't imported, because the file only lists fills.
  • Options trades aren't imported, since TraderPier journals US stocks and ETFs only.
Example: META and NVDA, Sep 2 to 29, replayed.

After the import

See each trade on its chart.

Open any trade to play it back bar by bar, with your entry and exit marked on the chart.

Questions

What if I import the same file twice?

Fills you've already imported are skipped by their IB Execution ID, so nothing is added twice.

What if a row doesn't import?

The preview lists any row that failed and why, before anything is saved.

Which markets can I journal?
